Inside the Chapel

Getting in wasn't easy
Getting in wasn’t easy

Last Wednesday, 25th January, we were given access to the inside of the chapel which had been boarded up.  Thanks to Teignbridge’s Matheu Gladman for coming out to let us in.

Here are a few photos:

Gaslight

There is no electricity inside the chapel.  There are still gaslight fittings in place

Beautiful trifoliate windows boarded up.  Is it my imagination or can anyone else see an image of a face in the bottom right-hand side of the trefoil?  You may ned to click and zoom the photo.

The place seems structurally intact (completely dry) but is full of rubbish.

Eleanor Anne Pell
Eleanor Anne Pell

They contain memorials to at least two women interred in the cemetery in late 19th century.  We are trying to find out who Eleanor Anne Pell and Sophia Eliza Drake were.
