We have recently officially established the “Friends of Teignmouth Cemetery” (FOTC) to promote the restoration and conservation of the Old Cemetery grounds and buildings and to encourage broad community use of those amenities in any way which is sympathetic to the site.

Teignmouth Old Cemetery 
Dear Neil ,there is a lot I have to learn about using the Internet that is why I often prefer to deal direct by person to person or hand written mail ,I am only now getting access to your recent work and the conflicting representations that have been made , by what seems to be devious methods . To rely on purely a Humanist , non religious function for the the chapel would be a mistake as I did not get a positive feedback from the Undertakers , it does not carry the same weight of interest as conventional services , nothing was actually said against it , it was the look of disinterest ,but money is money and should there be a call for a Humanist Service I am sure they would comply with transportation . However the weight and support of the Church would and does carry influence and that is why we should put the formal religious uses of the chapel and sympathetic additional uses , to the for front of our case and the wider use of the Lodges out to wider community interests close behind . I still have not found the page to register as a ” Friend ” but when I do and it is formalized I will donate £250 to the Fund . We need to have a ‘stall ‘ at all of the Sales on the Greens in Teignmouth and Dawlish at least . but I should imagine that those channels have already been discussed ? Hi Wendy. Will give you a call now that the pressure for getting the Expression of Interest submitted is over. You’ll see from the next post on here that what we are looking for is a
full, proper and open public consultation
on the future use of the site – so all ideas for community use would be welcome for debate. That way we can ensure that the most appropriate options for the site which are also of most benefit to the community can be taken forward
